Navigate Hillside Trails of Montverde on a Horse!
Horseback riding is not allowed in the reserves, but there are plenty of horseback tours on private land and trails, where you can appreciate the beautiful environment and views. You get the rare privilege to experience a beautiful private reserve on horseback. You will enjoys view over the Gulf of Nicoya and its pacific islands as well as coffee and sugar cane plantations. Primary and secondary rainforest will pass you by with wild life that can be spotted.
There are three different types of tour options, with each offering special kinds of views. The early morning ride is perfect for bird watching, the mid-morning tour has the clearest views and the best weather and the afternoon tour has spectacular sunset skies.
None of the tours need prior experience with horseback riding, private or group tours are possible if mentioned with prior notice. All saddles are equipped with a rain poncho and helmets are available on request. The guides have some knowledge of English, but it makes a nice way to use your Spanish and otherwise smiling and rudimentary sign-language helps usually sufficiently.
